What is Swap to Stop?

The Swap to Stop scheme is a government nationwide initiative that support people who are currently smoking tobacco to swap to vaping to improve their health.
This offer is only available to OVER 18’s, age will be verified using documentation and/or the electoral roll. Each person can only access this scheme once.
What are the benefits of vapes as a quit aid?
Vapes are 95% less harmful to use when compared with cigarettes.
Vapes are currently the most popular stop smoking aid in England and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) advise that encouraging smokers who cannot or do not want to stop smoking to switch to vaping devices could help reduce smoking related disease, death and health inequalities in England: Nicotine vaping in England: 2022 evidence update main findings - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).
The latest evidence is that in the short and medium term, vaping poses a small fraction of the risks of smoking, because vapes do not contain tobacco. Vaping can therefore provide a less harmful alternative for an adult smoker by giving the person the nicotine they crave through heating e-liquid but creating fewer toxins and at lower levels (OHID, 2022).
It is important to remember to purchase vapes safely from authentic and regulated providers.
What will I get?
A vape starter kits containing a vape, necessary accessories and 12 weeks of liquid to cover a 12-week treatment pathway.
The Device can be filled with whatever strength and flavour of e-liquid the client chooses. E-Cigarettes can now contain either no nicotine or up to 20mg/ ml of nicotine, across a wide variety of flavoured liquids.

It is important for clients to establish correct use and technique to get an efficient response from their E-Cigarette. Services can direct clients to Stop for Life Devon or the Vape provider Evapo should the client need support with the learning of the technique.
